Round Peak Vineyard's Howl-O-Wine event

Second Chance Animal Rescue of Surry County volunteers catered the event and the Soul Shine Band entertained the crowd. There was a contest for best costume, for man and beast!

The winners of the "human and dog" contest were the judges...that is just too funny!

POZY Bears creator, David Miller, came to Wyatt's Trading Post this past Saturday to celebrate the first anniversary of his brand's release. He chose Wyatt's because he actually debuted his line here 1 year ago, and has fond memories of the store's owners and its clientele.

They come in all shapes, colors and sizes....

Budbreak Festival in downtown Mount Airy last Saturday

The Budbreak Festival was Saturday, May 5th, on Main Street.

Food was provided by 13 Bones...



Music provided by Bobby Keys....

Art and crafts were also a part of the festival...

and wood turning....

But most of the crowd came to sample wonderful wines....

Kids Unplugged at Riverside Park

Saturday was filled with fun for kids at Riverside Park. 

The event was called Unplugged, as a reference for getting kids outside and having fun, instead of attached to a video game or TV.

The Girl Scouts where there with a face painting tent...



But there were other fun activities, such as dancing...

Cornhole games....

Fishing....

...and fun with daddy!  It was a great day at the park, and a really special day if you're a kid!

Friday night at the Blackmon Amphitheater...the crowd was dancing up a storm!

The Embers played great tunes and the dance floor stayed busy.

 

Shelton Vineyards poured wine and The Dairy Center sold food.

Griggs Hampton Memorial Fun Run

Along with the Art Walk, Saturday was also the day for the Griggs Hampton Memorial Fun Run, which had a good turn out. 


 

The fun run ended at Donna's Barber Shop....

There were bouncy houses for the kids to play in...
 
and don't forget the adults too!

...and games for everyone to play...

Here the cooks are grilling up food for donations...

It was great seeing everyone enjoying their day and all for a good cause...Griggs would have been proud!
